Floating fabrics for Tekla

● Concept
✲ Cinema 4D (cloth physics)
✲ Blender (composting + lighting + render)

This was a dynamic project that I conceptualized. The assignment was to create an immersive in-store visualization Tekla, a high-end fabric brand. We were asked to design it in the 3D software of choice, which was a combination of Cinema 4D and Blender for me.

The core concept of the campaign was to showcase the essence of Tekla, the fabrics itself. Emphasizing the harmonious blend of comfort and style. I animated a 3D visual that depicted cushions gracefully flying into a blanket, wrapping around each other.

Getting photorealistic?

I’ve tried to challenge myself and shoot for photorealism. With the help of a tutorial online I was able to add hair particles and add node based texture to the cushion. While my enthusiasm was great, the computing power to render 6 cushions flying into one another was not so great. I wanted to implement this in the final render but wasn’t able to. Around 200k hair particles, that times 5 with physics interacting was a bit too much. Hopefully the still image gives an idea of what could’ve been possible!
